FCHS is a privately run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, tax ID 43-1244655, dedicated to serving the homeless, abandoned, and lost dogs and cats in our area. We incorporated in 1981 and operated as a foster network for homeless pets for 13 years. In 1994, we opened our current shelter location in Union, Missouri.

Free Vaccine Event Saturday, March 4th, 9-1, Union Fire Station #1, 1401 West Springfield Ave.
UPDATE: Our event vaccinated over 125 pets, microchipped 21 animals and tested 38 dogs for heartworms. Thank you to our staff, volunteers, Daniel J. Smith, DVM and his staff at the Animal Hospital of Washington, the Union, MO fire department
Community Impact 2022
We are so proud to report our 2022 impact on the Franklin County Community. We endured nine months of crisis levels (double our normal daily number of shelter pets in care) but with help from the community and foster families
FCHS Pet Friendly Spay Neuter Program
Families who earn less than $30,000 a year can purchase discounted vouchers for spay/neuter surgeries through our Pet Friendly Spay/Neuter Program. Vouchers are $25.00 and must be purchased in person at our shelter. There is a limit of two vouchers
