FCHS is partnering with national nonprofit Petco Love to give pets their best shot for a healthy life by hosting a free pet vaccine event on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm at the Union Fire Station #1, 1401 West Springfield Ave., Union MO 63084. Thanks to Petco Love we are able to offer free vaccines for parvovirus, distemper, and panleukopenia to decrease pet exposure to contagious, deadly diseases.
This is a drive-through, first-come, first-served event. Cats must be contained in carriers. Dogs must be on a leash. Participants will drive up and complete a registration form. An FCHS staff member will transport your pet from your vehicle to the appropriate vaccination area. Your pet will be returned after the vaccination is complete. Vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis. Free vaccines distributed through the Petco Love initiative will be the DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines.
FCHS will also be offering discounted services. Rabies vaccines will be $15, dog heartworm tests $10 and microchipping and registrations $25. Microchipping provides permanent identification for your pet. Only cash payments will be accepted for these services.
No retractable leashes. Cats must be in sturdy carriers. One cat per carrier. Vaccinations and services are for dogs and cats only. The event team reserves the right to refuse services if the pet poses a danger to others. Vaccines, including canine and feline rabies vaccinations, will only be administered by a licensed veterinarian.
Our free vaccine event is made possible through Petco Love’s new national vaccination initiative, which is providing one million free pet vaccines to existing animal welfare partners, including FCHS, for family pets in need. As puppy and kitten season approaches, pet exposure to contagious and deadly diseases increases but is preventable with a simple vaccine.
We are grateful to Dr. Smith and his staff at the Animal Hospital of Washington for donating their time to make this event possible.
